Edouard Damestoy (@edidamestoy) is a 25-year-old French skateboarder from Bordeaux. He grew up in the world of skateboarding from a young age, with a father who was a surfboard shaper. Although his father thought he would one day become asurf champion, the young man from Bordeaux quickly gravitated towards skateboarding. He got his first board at the age of 7, and it was love at first sight. Edouard practiced day and night and was a regular at skateparks and competitions in the southwest of France. After trying street and transition skating, hefound his specialty: vert skating (vertical ramps of 4 to 5 meters tall), which he discovered at Bordeaux’s Hangar Darwin skatepark, one of the few French skateparks with a vert ramp.
Edouard quickly made a name for himself as one of the best during various international competitions. Although vert skating was more popular in the 90s, it's not as common today, with fewer vert skaters and infrastructure, especially in Europe. Today, Edouard spends his time between the United States and Brazil, the two countries in the world with the most vert skateparks. He trains in the company of some of the biggest names in the game, such as Tony Hawk (@tonyhawk), Bucky Lasek (@buckylasek), Bob Burnquist (@bobburnquist) or Jimmy Wilkins (@jimmy_wilkins).

Interview Edouard Damestoy
We first met Edourard in 2016, when he asked us to sponsor him so he could compete in the X Games in the US. Unfortunately, at the time, we didn't have the budget or the products to cater to a skater of his caliber. Our skate team tested, grew, and advanced in the creation of technical, long-lasting skate products over a few years.

With Edouard, things began to move forward in 2022. He joined the Decathlon Athletes Team for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and became a technical partner of the skateboarding team.
The goal of our partnership with Edouard is to create a quality skateboard that meets the needs of the most demanding skaters. The deck is the part of the skateboard that experiences the most stress, which frequently leads to it breaking. More advanced skaters sometimes soar several meters over ramp coping or do tricks down a 20-step stair set, which involves a lot of bending and impact on the board.
A classic deck is made out of seven glued-together plies of Canadian maple. What makes the DK900 unique is its revolutionary design, which consists of five plies of FSC-certified Canadian maple and two plies of fiberglass. Its construction, which sets it apart from other decks on the market, enhances the quality and longevity of the pop, gives it the dynamism needed for tricks, and offers an extraordinary resistance to breakage.
The initial results were overwhelmingly positive. A gold medal at the most recent Mega Ramp World Championships in Buenos Aires in October 2022, first place in the prestigious Vert Alert competition hosted by Tony Hawk in Salt Lake City in August 2022, and a gold medal at the most recent X Games in Vista, California, in July 2022 were among the numerous international competitions Edouard has already won with this new deck. He’s also the first skateboarder from France to take home a gold medal at the X Games. The video above shows Edouard's final attempt in the X Games.
