Whether it’s during a skate session, a comment on our social media, or a discussion with our in-store colleagues, there are questions that come up often. Perhaps you have asked yourself those questions too. JP (skateboard product manager) and Eric (Decathlon Skateboarding brand leader and longboard product manager) respond to you in complete transparency.

Do you plan on making a clothing line specially designed for skateboarding ?

Yes indeed, clothes are an integral part of skaters needs. We are currently working on a line of technical and stylish clothing. We have already released a first clothing collection including a hoodie and a t-shirt in collaboration with the artist Loïc Lusnia in spring 2023 which was extremely well received. The next step is to release a complete clothing line including both a surf pant and a workpant, a t-shirt and a hoodie.

Do you plan to develop more sizes of boards, wheels, trucks in the future?

Additional sizes imply additional stock in stores. This comes at a significant cost. So yes, we plan to expand our offering but little by little, as our sales progress.

New collaborations planned with the DK500 boards?

Yes ! in 2024 we are releasing a DK500 in collaboration with Make Life Skate Life which pays homage to the skatepark that we built in Beirut in 2021 with the Décathlon Foundation.

Do you plan on releasing new skate shoes soon?

Yes, this is certainly the area where we have the most work. The new Vulca 500 is the best skate shoe we've offered so far, but that's not enough. For 2024, we are working on a new Crush 500 cupsole for adults and children which should arrive during the first half of the year.

In addition to this new Crush 500, we want to offer a new, more technical, high-end model that should get people talking.

Skateboarding is becoming more feminine but not the equipment, are you thinking of developing products more suited to women?

yes it’s clear that skateboarding is becoming more and more feminine and that’s excellent news!

On the other hand, the skaters we interviewed do not particularly expect a specially dedicated product line, particularly in terms of equipment. For the rest, textiles and shoes, we strive to offer unisex products.
