Having the needs of skateboarders in mind, we have been working for quite sometime on a new line of cupsole skate shoe. Benefiting from our design and engineering experience, we have made what we believe to be the best cupsole skate shoe at this price point.
But what is a cupsole shoe ?
Cupsole refers to how the outsole of a shoe is manufactured. There is two different manufacturing processes that can be used to create the outsole of a skate shoe. The first one is vulcanization, which consist of heating up rubber to give it its intended shape. After that the outsole is pressed against the upper of the shoe, and a strip of rubber called foxing tap is added to the side to help bond the diferent parts and give it additional strength. Vulcanized shoes are traditionally flat, and offer more boardfeel.
On the contrary cupsole outsole are made from one solid piece of rubber that is glued or sewn to the upper of the shoe. Like it's name implies, it is shaped like a cup to receive and secure your heel while you skate.
The Crush500 is our most advanced cupsole shoe yet, it features:
-An abrasion resistant suede upper sown to the side panel using the stitch and turn method, ensuring that the seams won't tear.
-A lace cover protection on the the first 3 eyelets
-A hidden rubber toe cap designed to slow down the appearance of holes
-Great impact protection and shock absorption thanks to its polyurethane insole.
-A microfiber perforated tongue to make it easier to put them on and help evacuate sweat
-A grippy and durable outsole
